HOW YOU CAN HELP

Donations
Individual financial support is vital to our continued ability to provide services above and beyond the status quo. We rely on private, individual support to ensure the continued success of our comprehensive support services as well as our unique program opportunities, such as the WIR’s Women’s Empowerment Program, one which focuses on the prevention of and recovery from incidences of domestic and family violence. Your support also ensures that we are able to promote and expand innovative service models like the True Colors Residence and True Colors Bronx.

Hold a Fundraising Event
A number of wonderful groups and individuals have raised much needed funds to support West End through small fundraising events. Benefit concerts, art shows, dances, and other community events are a great way to not only help our residents, but to spread the word about the West End.

If you would like more information about donating the proceeds of your fundraiser to West End, please contact Melanie Meadows, Director of Development, at mmeadows@westendres.org.

Sponsorships
West End now has a new opportunity for corporations to get involved. Gain some exposure and show your community involvement by supporting West End’s sponsorship program. Please review the packet for details.

There continues to be confusion about West End’s True Colors supportive housing programs and any affiliation they may have to the True Colors Fund. While sharing a deep commitment to ending LGBT youth homelessness, the True Colors Residence (TCR) and True Colors Bronx (TCBx) are in no way connected to True Colors Fund (the Fund). Rather, TCR and TCBx are supportive housing programs solely created, developed, and operated by West End Residences. They are not part of the Fund nor does the Fund have any role in the residences other than providing some limited financial support in the past. West End’s connection to Cyndi Lauper as co-founder of TCR and TCBx, is separate from her work as co-founder of the Fund.

West End Residences and the True Colors Fund are both wonderful organizations working to improve the lives of LGBT youth but our missions and activities are very different. We hope the information below helps to provide clarity.
