There continues to be confusion about West End’s True Colors supportive housing programs and any affiliation they may have to the True Colors Fund. While sharing a deep commitment to ending LGBT youth homelessness, the True Colors Residence (TCR) and True Colors Bronx (TCBx) are in no way connected to True Colors Fund (the Fund). Rather, TCR and TCBx are supportive housing programs solely created, developed, and operated by West End Residences. They are not part of the Fund nor does the Fund have any role in the residences other than providing some limited financial support in the past. West End’s connection to Cyndi Lauper as co-founder of TCR and TCBx, is separate from her work as co-founder of the Fund.

West End Residences and the True Colors Fund are both wonderful organizations working to improve the lives of LGBT youth but our missions and activities are very different. We hope the information below helps to provide clarity.

Public Policy & Awareness
True Colors Fund

Program Areas: Through a broad continuum of community organizing, public engagement, public policy, research, and youth collaboration programs, the True Colors Fund is working to end homelessness among lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth by creating systemic change at the local, state and national levels.
